Description
Beccariophoenix alfredii, also known as the High Plateau or Mountain Coconut Palm, is a recently discovered species of palm, endemic to Madagascar. It is part of the genus Beccariophoenix, and is closely related to the genus Cocos. Beccariophoenix alfredii is very similar to the coconut palm but is much more cold resistant, making it a good substitute for the coconut palm in cooler climates.
