Description
Waratah (Telopea) is a genus of flowering plants native to New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The most well-known is the Telopea speciosissima, with red flowers.
Telopea is a member of the Proteaceae plant family. The name waratah comes from the Eora Aboriginals, the original inhabitants of Sydney and the surrounding area.
